Successful students from GADRA Matric School
Youth unemployment in Grahamstown is over 50%. Matric (the end of school qualification) is vital in order to progress. The GADRA Matric School provides a highly succesful, intensive course for students who have failed their matric (or who need to improve their grades). FOGADD helps fund the GADRA Matric School.
Classroom at Tantji Primary School, Grahamstown
As part of the GADRA Whistlestop project (supported by FOGADD), this classroom in a township primary school has been renovated. It is used to provide 45 minutes of daily reading practice for pupils who are falling behind. Results have been excellent. Poor reading skills are often at the root of poor achievement in secondary education.
